To be specific, the performance kicked off in the duet of Huangmei Opera 'Making Lanterns'. It was the first time for many students to watch the performance so closely and they were very excited. Actors from the art theater also performed Peking Opera 'the North Wind Blows' and 'Red Plum Praise' for the audience as well as pipa singing 'Shanghai Beach', 'Sing of a Beauty' and other traditional repertoire. The Huangmei playlet 'Making Bean Curd' brought the whole performance to a climax.

Furthermore, Dean Pan Liping of the Beijing Dialect Art Theater of Anqing City presented the Peking Opera string roast to everyone. After singing the beautiful songs, she taught the students to sing Peking Opera and Huangmei Opera, who were very active to learn accordingly, sang quite well and learnt quickly. The performance dropped the curtain with the moving story 'Bridal Chamber', a selection from 'Emperor's Female Son-in-Law'.

In conclusion, our hometown Anqing is one of the cradles of the quintessence of Chinese Peking Opera and the birthplace and inheritance place of one of the five major operas in China, Huangmei Opera. Therefore, it's the due responsibility of every citizen in Anqing to inherit and carry forward the good reputation of Anqing as a 'State of Culture and Township of Theater and Drama'. For one thing, the activity enabled students to learn more about the opera culture and promote traditional opera culture. For another, the informative event enriched students' extracurricular life and improved their artistic accomplishment, which was an extremely meaningful performance.
